Directors needed!! All families are required to direct at least one tournament. If you are unable to direct, please make arrangements for a substitute, or to pay someone to take your place!!!
The Alpharetta High School Fencing Club is open to all Alpharetta H.S. students. No fencing experience is necessary!
Mission Statement: The fencing team will work hard as a single, united body to improve physically and build character and strong personal values.
Practices are held on the 2nd floor outside the 4200 hallway every Tuesday after school from 4 to 5:30. All are welcome! All team members are taught to fence and will be able to represent AHS in tournaments against other Atlanta-area high schools. AHS is a member of the Georgia High School Fencing League (GHSFL) which is composed of teams from Alpharetta, Brookwood, Centennial, Chattahoochee, Flowery Branch, Johns Creek, Lassiter, Mill Creek, Milton, North Gwinnett, Northview, North Springs, Pope and Roswell High Schools.
Our fencing coach is Dr. Kathy Vail, who is co-founder of the GHSFL and director of the Dunwoody Fencing Club. The club faculty sponsor for 2009-2010 Kathy Abele.
Dues for the 2009-2010 school year are $130. Dues and club membership include once-a-week fencing lessons and all tournament fees.
